Malignant Mesothelioma
There are three different types of malignant mesothelioma, determined by the cancer's location:
- Pericardial (Heart)
- Peritnoeal (Abdomen)
- Pleural (Lung)
The higher percentage of malignant cases are begun in the chest cavity, a much smaller average around the stomach, and very rarely around the heart.
Average lifetime after being diagnosed with malignant mesothelioma is around one year. Symptoms usually don't emerge until the cancer is far advanced, and most hope for removing a growth is dim.
The common factor in individuals that are diagnosed with malignant mesothelioma is their exposure to asbestos fibers.
